Sacred Valley Health believes health and education go hand in hand, and for this reason we seek relationships with organizations that can foster growth of our programs and aid our communities.
This program originated as service learning trips for groups of medical and nursing students but it has evolved through various iterations as we continue to strive for more ethical, sustainable, community-based partnerships. This program is designed to be customizable for different partners, but typically includes an opportunity for students to receive wilderness first aid training from our staff and promotoras, Spanish and/or Quechua classes, opportunities for cultural exchange, and workshops designed to facilitate learning about global health, grassroots nonprofits, and ethical volunteering in practice.
