Adolescent Girls Program

Our Adolescent Girls Empowerment Initiative (AGEI), launched in 2025, is a transformative program designed to empower adolescent girls in our partner communities to become leaders in healthy gender relationships and sexual and reproductive health. Through culturally sensitive, community-driven education and leadership training, the AGEI equips young women with the knowledge, confidence, and skills to advocate for gender equality and equitable access to health services within their own communities.

Over an 18-month period, participants engage in interactive workshops, mentorship, and leadership development activities focused on identity, self-esteem, reproductive health, and community advocacy. The program also fosters collaboration between young indigenous leaders, health providers, local authorities, and civil society organizations to strengthen community-wide responses to sexual and reproductive health challenges.

By investing in the next generation of women leaders, AGEI seeks to break cycles of gender discrimination, reduce unplanned pregnancies, and promote greater awareness of sexual and reproductive rights. Ultimately, the initiative aims to create lasting, intergenerational change, ensuring that empowered girls today become the confident, informed women shaping their communities tomorrow.

We are proud to partner with Together Women Rise, whose generous funding makes this initiative possible. Their support enables Sacred Valley Health to continue advancing gender equality, health education, and leadership among indigenous youth in Peru.

Together Women Rise is a powerful community of women and allies dedicated to global gender equality. It has hundreds of local chapters across theU.S. where members come together to learn about and advocate for gender equality issues, give grants to organizations that empower women and girls in low-income communities in the Global South, and build community to forge meaningful connections with each other and with women around the world.
