Peru has closed its borders and instituted a mandatory 15-day social distancing policy in an effort to slow the spread of the coronavirus. Our staff are working from home and are communicating with our health workers by phone. Starting on Monday, March 17, our team has been broadcasting daily radio shows in Quechua, the language spoken in the communities we serve, in order to reach rural communities with information about how to prevent the spread of the virus.

In a region dependent on tourism, our goal is to support our staff and community health workers for as long as we can. We are working with the municipality and local non-profit partners to support the implementation of the Ministry of Health’s directives.

We are so grateful for your generosity in this difficult time!
